From now until mid-January is prime time, and we’re planning a road trip with a stop at the incredible Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge in northwest Missouri. This area is a vital migratory corridor with dramatic loess hills, wetlands, and forests that attract massive concentrations of wildlife, including an astounding 559 bald eagles counted on 12/16. Along the 10-mile auto tour and surrounding trails, we’ll have opportunities to photograph eagles, snow geese, ducks, trumpeter swans, and more.
